"Petr Velikiy" is the fourth in succession and the only operative heavy atomic rocket cruiser of the third generation from the series of the project 1144.2 "Orlan". As of 2010 it is the biggest in the world operative non-aircraft attack combat ship. The powerful nuclear power plant of the cruiser affords it to develop the speed of 32 knots and is rated for service of 50 years. For comparison: the cruiser "Petr Velikiy" can supply with electricity and heat a city with 150-200 thousand people. The heavy atomic rocket cruiser "Petr Velikiy" is one of the most up-to-date and powerful ships of the Navy of the Russian Federation and one of the most powerful attack ships in the world. The ship has the possibility of destruction of big above-water targets and protection of marine formations from air attacks and enemy submarines. It has unlimited cruising range. It is armed with the attack cruise missiles, which can hit targets at the distance to 550 km, and with the air-defense missile systems. With respect to its firepower the cruiser has no analogues in the world. The model is performed as of 2008, it has an excellent detailed drafting and is intended for experienced modelers.
